Dear Colleagues and Friends:

It is my great honor and pleasure to hold the 4th World Congress of International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies in Seoul, Korea in 2010. I cordially invite you to this special meeting to discuss the issues concerned with head and neck cancers.

The treatment protocols of head and neck cancers have been greatly changed over the past 2 decades from the early radical surgery to more recent organ preserving functional treatments. Achieving the best results in terms of survival rate and functional morphology entails close collaborations among the surgeons, radiation oncologists and medical oncologists as well as plastic surgeons.
This congress will provide superb opportunities to the participants in acquiring valuable information about the management of the head and neck tumors.

A word regarding the congress venue!
Seoul has been the capital city of the Korean peninsula for more than 600 years. It is a metropolitan city with combination of traditional and contemporary flavors. The congress site is located in the city center and surrounded by historical palaces and some of the best known skyscrapers in Seoul. You will also enjoy valuable opportunities to experience Korean culinary and entertainment cultures, along with warm hospitality of the Korean people while visiting many different places. When this meeting was held in Prague, we could enjoy the European cultures and now the time is to enjoy Asian cultures.

I assure you that the forthcoming World Congress in Seoul will be remembered as one of the most successful meetings. I and the members of the IFHNOS together with our colleagues will do our best to make the congress be very memorable and successful both academically and socially.

I look forward to seeing all of you in Seoul, June 15-19, 2010.
